LeeAnne Sanders is the Academy's K-12 Professional Development coordinator and the AP Spanish teacher. Ms. Sanders began teaching high school in her hometown of St. Louis, Missouri in 2002. After six years teaching Spanish in the midwest, Ms. Sanders moved to Colorado and spent another six years teaching at Peak to Peak Charter School. Seeking to expand her professional abilities beyond the Spanish classroom, Ms. Sanders trained as an Instructional Coach receiving her certification through the International Coaching Federation in 2012. Since then, Ms. Sanders has focused her energy on developing and implementing teacher training and teacher support programs. For two years she served as the Instructional Coach for High Point Academy in Aurora while simultaneously consulting for various other charter schools in the front range before landing at The Academy in, what for her is a dream position - one that allows her both to work with teachers and students alike.
Ms. Sanders has her B.A. in Spanish, a minor in German and an M.A. in teaching. She is an internationally certified educational coach and coach trainer. She and her husband live outside of the Denver metro area on a small plot of land with a big garden where she spends most of her free time roaming between tomato plants. When she's not in the garden, she's hiking mountain trails with her dog.
